Parameters Thursday, Dec 13, 1:30 – 4:15 Same room Closed book / closed notes / closed neighbor Comprehensive You may take breaks (not all together) Spread out as much as possible 27 April 2019 © Offutt, 2012

Coverage Usability overview (N-Ch 1) Web users (N-Ch 2, 3) Usability problems and Search (N-Ch 4, 5) Website navigation (N-Ch 6) Readability & writing (N-Ch 7, 8) Javascript (S-Ch 3, 4, 6) PHP (S-Ch 9) Ajax (S-Ch 10) J2EE (S-Ch 11.1-11.6) XML & JDBC (S-Ch 7.1-7, 13.1-6) Security 27 April 2019 © Offutt, 2012

A Few Final Notes Project was pseudo-agile Many companies who are successful at achieving usability view it as improving efficiency of their users Demand for better usability is heavily influenced by good examples (the “iPhone effect”) Companies will pay gold for programmers who know how to build mobile apps well Especially if they also understand usability “Wrapping paper UI” : Usability added as a thin layer that’s not really integrated This doesn’t really work … 27 April 2019 © Offutt, 2012

Preparing and Format Re-read the text and handouts Study the homework assignments Redo the quizzes Get a good night’s sleep Lots of different kinds of questions Short answer T / F M / C Single answer questions Problem solving 27 April 2019 © Offutt, 2012

Grades I will post averages on blackboard ASAP Quiz (after dropping three) Homework Participation I will post final exam scores on blackboard after grades are turned in As in all classes, you have the right to review your final exam But probably not practical until January 27 April 2019 © Offutt, 2012

Final Grades 5% participation, 30% quizzes, 35% homeworks, 30% final Lowest three quiz grades dropped Unbiased grading – compute and sort: >= 98 : A+ – Probably only one A+ per class > 93 : A > 90 : A- > 86 : B+ > 80 : B > 75 : B- > 65 : C I will “slide the line” down to an appropriate “break point” 27 April 2019 © Offutt, 2012
