Questionnaires

Audience Analysis Altogether the questionnaire has displayed that people have multiple opinions on which genre type they prefer when it comes to movies. Most people who were surveyed agreed that they like to have a clear setting and introduction of who the characters are, or how they actually relate to the topic at hand. Also some other people surveyed wanted action that went straight to the point. One example of this is in the movie “The Usual Suspects”(1995) They do this by starting the movie with a large ship being destroyed and an anonymous murdered someone. The majority of the people surveyed believe that the best part of the movie was the plot.

Notes on film Openings The Usual Suspects Starts of with plenty of action. The ship gets burnt in the ocean from a lighter. Many dead bodies across the deck of the ship. A random person gets murdered by a gun shot and then scene finishes. A lighter gets dropped to start a massive fire. Does not introduce any characters.

The Siege of jadotville Starts of in a normal setting in a car. Out of nowhere a large explosion on the street. The president of Katanga is kidnapped by a random man. A speech is given that foreshadows a part later in the movie. The original president of Katanga gets murdered. The screen goes completely black after the gun shot.

Conclusion-Film Openings My group or trio of friends have determined that every single movie starts of differently. Some start of fast and straight to the point, while others are slow and develop the plot. While all this is true, the genre type that our movie is in, usually open up with a lot of subtle action. One example of this is in the movie “The Usual Suspects” This movies opening scene is very dramatic and starts to slowly grab the attention of the audience. But by doing this it sets the tone and mood for the rest of the movie. Then once the explosion of the ship and the murder occurs, the audience can tell its an action movie. Another example of this is in “The Siege of Jadotville” because of the instant action in the movie. At the beginning of the movie it starts with a low toned music and builds its way up to a major explosion. Then it shows the murder of the character which raises the tempo.

Films that have influenced us! There are two films that have influenced our group as a whole. The two films are “The Usual Suspects” and “The Siege of Jadotville. The reason behind this is because in “The Usual Suspects” movie that the opening is very dramatic but starts of slow in the beginning. Once on major thing happens another on occurs at the same time. The reason why we chose “The Siege of Jadotville” is because the movie starts of with a normal action but then a very large explosion occurs that shatters everything on the street. Then afterwards there is a murder and then the scene goes black.

Produce Our Film The company that would produce our film is “20th century fox . One major reason for this is that they have produced some of the biggest movies in recent history. Some of these include Assassins Creed, Independence day, deadpool, and X- Men apocalypse. They also have produced many action movies that have been successful.
