Task 1 P3.1   The estimating director of your construction company has approached you to help expand the market and client base of the organisation by undertaking some investigation and research for the company. Produce a short report that examines the component parts of the construction and built environment sector, (in terms of size i.e. number in each sector, volume of work, value of work), and client base, (public, private, voluntary, local, regional, national, international) Task 2 P3.2 The marketing director has reviewed your report and has expressed some concerns over the statistics that you have quoted on the outputs Report back to the marketing director with a comparison on the outputs of the following Housing Commercial Public Buildings

Strategy……. in report format……. 3.1 Determine the component parts of CBE sector using available statistics to produce a synopsis that details: size i.e. number in each sector volume of work value of work client base i.e. public private voluntary local regional national international 3.2 Undertake a full analysis on available data, making a comparison across 3 output sectors: Housing Commercial Public buildings Use charts, graphs and data on outputs P3.2 A comparison made graphically with detailed evaluation on the outputs of the different parts of the CBE sector P3.1 A synopsis of the different types of client and the component parts that are produced in the CBE sector

We need data in the form of statistics to assist with answering P3.1 and P3.2 P3.1 explain the component parts of the construction and built environment sector in terms of size and client base P3.2 compare the outputs of component parts of the construction and built environment sector 1. 2.

The spring forecast said: The UK’s Construction Products Association said it expected sectors of the industry to grow by as much as 18% in 2014, according to its spring forecast.   The association said the construction industry’s recovery was becoming stronger and broader, and it pointed to increases in private house building, together with growth in the infrastructure and commercial sectors. 13 Apr 2014 The spring forecast said: private housing starts would rise 18% in 2014 and 10% in 2015 commercial office construction would increase 7% in 2014 and 10% in 2015 infrastructure activity would grow 10.1% in 2014 and 7.2% in 2015

Construction is a major contributor to UK GDP (c. 8.5% in 2008, £124 billion)
