Posting Accounts (Sub. Read Only) cards → financial cards → account

Posting Accounts cards → financial cards → account Posting accounts are the financial accounts that track assets, liabilities, revenue, expenses, and equity. Transactions posted to these accounts will appear on the financial statements and other financial reports. Account Number and Description Review the account segment and account length maximums that are defined during installation. Use the same format within each company for consistency in reporting and look up lists. The description is a 50 character field so be as descriptive as necessary. Category The account category will determine how the account will be formatted on the financial statements and reports.

Posting Accounts cards → financial cards → account Posting Type The posting type assigned is used to determine which accounts are closed during the year-end closing procedures. It does not determine on which statement the account will appear. Typical Balance Assets and Expenses have a typical Debit balance. Liabilities, Equity, and Revenue accounts have a typical Credit balance. Series Select the Dynamics product series where this posting account will be used. The account will appear on all lookup lists in the selected series.

Posting Accounts cards → financial cards → account Summary Once transactions have been posted to the account, this button can be used to view the period balances for the account. History and Budget Selecting these buttons opens related windows. Individual budget amounts can be edited with this button. Analysis You can assign similar accounts to account analysis groups.

Posting Accounts Master Record Company Data Screen

Posting Accounts Master Record Company Data Screen This screen will only display in the AG Master Record company. When GL accounts are added/edited in the Master Record Company, they are updated in proper coop or subsidiary company. Account descriptions can be updated for one account or all accounts with same main four digit account number using Description button. Account descriptions, by default, will be assembled from the segment descriptions. (This method will be used by Great Plains in Version 9.)
