AGENDA Do-Now The Rest of the Week Questions about Works Cited? Graphic Organizer Think/Pair/Share HW: HARD COPY OF WORKS CITED DUE!!!! Finish Graphic Organizer

Don’t forget… Remove any citations that you didn’t actually take notes on including Antoninus Pius!!!

Sophisticated Analysis Remember, not just about the person, how did their actions affect the empire? Their legitimacy? Try to move beyond stating the obvious. Lets do an example….

Think-Pair-Share Get with Martin Luther Partner Read their nomination statement (thesis) and their first core argument After reading, what suggestions do you have? Is evidence clear/specific? Is analysis more than stating obvious? What could make it more complex? Are you clear how their actions affected empire or legitimacy?

DO-NOW Put printed Works Cited and Works Cited Rubric on desk (with your name on both) Take out completed organizer

Peer Feedback Find two classmates: Have one read your nomination statement and give feedback (and vice versa) Have one read a body paragraph and give feedback (and vice versa) FEEDBACK MUST BE WRITTEN DOWN! You cannot get a computer later without this!

Nomination Statements What was successful? Nominate your classmates!

Agenda Do-Now Slides – what they look like Begin writing HW: Continue to work on slides! Must be ready to peer edit by end of class, Friday, March 6 (you will email your slides to other people)

HOMEWORK! HW: Continue to work on slides! Must be ready to peer edit by end of class, Friday, March 6 (you will email your slides to other people)

Where might you find quotes for this project: Primary Sources like The Twelve Caesars Authors like Pliny, Cassius Dio, etc., Famous Historians like Edward Gibbons Monumental Architecture like Trajan’s Column YOU MUST USE AT LEAST ONE DIRECT QUOTE

Nero loses legitimacy by wrongfully accusing Christians for starting the Great Fire Diocletian’s reorganization of the government helped maintain stability for the Pax Romana

Agenda Do-Now Quotes Finding Images Work on slides HW: Continue to work on slides! Must be ready to peer edit by end of class, Friday, March 6 (you will email your slides to other people)

Things I Assume… You have made or know how to make a PowerPoint or GoogleSlides presentation You know how to put a hyperlink into a slide You know how to email attachments. If any of these things are untrue…please speak to me or email me ASAP!

Finding Images

Put your name and emperor on top of paper. Write your email (clearly) at the top. Hand it back to Ms. Fitz

Do-Now Take one of your full sentence claims and cut it down to five words or less: Keep important verbs Don’t repeat emperor’s name Don’t repeat nomination statement Clarify major point Think of it as a header title

Agenda Claims Slides Email HW: Peer Edit one person’s slides over the weekend

At the end of class… Email your project AS AN ATTACHMENT to the email written at the top of the paper.

Do-Now Sit next to the person you reviewed this weekend. Have your feedback out to be checked for homework.

One person get a laptop… Decide who is Partner A and Partner B. When I say go Partner A will share their feedback clicking through slide-by-slide. Partner B may not speak. After a few minutes, you will switch and Partner B will explain their feedback while Partner A listens. After a few minutes, it will become a dialogue.
