What is it? Why does it happen? Adaptation What is it? Why does it happen?

Animals and plants are adapted to the conditions of the habitats in which they live.

Animals live everywhere on Earth. However they all live in different habitats. Can you think of any animals and their habitats?

Let’s look a little closer at the desert What kinds of animals and plants live in the desert? Camels Cacti Fennec Foxes

How are camels adapted to live in the desert? The long eyelashes keep sand out of the camel's eyes. Thick eyebrows shield the eyes from the desert sun. A camels nostrils can close so it doesn't get sand up its nose. Camels store fat in the hump, not water. The fat can be used as energy.

It’s time for you to do a bit of research. Visit the website below and choose an animal from the side bar. Click here for the website Make some quick notes about how they are adapted to their habitat and be ready to tell your friends.

So we have found out that … Animals depend on their physical features to help them obtain food, keep safe, build homes, withstand weather, and attract mates. These physical features are called physical adaptations. They makes it possible for the animal to live in a particular place and in a particular way. Each adaptation has been produced by evolution. This means that the adaptations have developed over many generations.
