Aim: How are the pressure and volume of a confined gas related? Essential Questions: Why are gases compressible? Describe relationship between pressure exerted on a confined gas and its volume. Why are weather balloons only filled partway with Helium gas? Predict what would happen if weather balloons were completely filled.

Aim: How are the pressure and volume of a confined gas related? Essential questions: Why does climbing Mt. Everest become increasingly more difficult as one ascends the mountain? Why did shaving cream increase in volume when vacuum was turned on? State relationship between pressure and volume.

Aim: How are the pressure and volume of a confined gas related? Do Now: Refer to reference table A and determine the units for pressure and volume. What does STP stand for? Define pressure Weather balloons are only filled partway with Helium gas. Explain.
