Red Rock Crabs By Luke Squire

Where Does The Red Rock Crab Live? The red rock crab is one of the most common crabs of the north east costs of the Pacific Ocean. They can also be found in America, Mexico and some other near by islands. They live in rock, gravel, kelp beds, estuaries and rocky areas of the ocean.

Prey And Predators Red rock crabs are carnivores. They eat barnacles, smaller living crabs and dead fish. Every creature has a predator and some of the Red Rock Crabs predators are rock fish and other large fishes also some octopuses and marine mammals.

Characteristics The red rock crab looks pretty much like what you would expect a crab to be. It has 5 pairs of legs and strong claws that have sharp edges. The crab has a thick shell that is 8 cm in length This shell gives the crab a bit of protection.
