AGENDA Decision to Package without Verification being Complete Decisions to Be Made Changes to Tracking Documents Memo vs Non-Memo of Aid Estimated fund status vs Offered fund status Other concerns BUILDING ON OUR MOMENTUM! WVASFAA FALL 2017 CONFERENCE
Decision to Package Without Verification Being Completed MU’s Experience New Director’s Vision Worked closely with the Bursars Office Moved having lines and forcing Verification to be done on the spot by our office to being able to process Verification after school started
Changes in Tracking Documents/Requirements
Tracking Continued
Tracking or Posting of Documents
Memo VS Non-Memo of Aid Do you want aid to show on Bills Do you want students registrations to be cancelled for non-payment What will be the fall-out of the above at your institution
MU’s Solution Our Solution – We still hold anyone who is registered with no aid memoed or paid on the first day fees are due. Our office posts a “Faith Hold” to RPAAWRD and the Bursars Office runs a process which posts a hold to TSAAREV and then they will not be dropped unless we ask them to do so.
Estimated VS Offered Aid in Packaging We do not use estimated status codes when packaging However, for State Programs – our fund code description is Estimated West Virginia Grant and Estimated Promise Scholarship. Then we cancel those fund codes and post the actual fund code.
Exception Lists! Exception Lists! Exception Lists! Other Concerns When verification is completed – aid must be reviewed and adjusted once packaging begins. Revised award notifications are sent to students and parents. Exception Lists! Exception Lists! Exception Lists!
