Requirements for the Review Powerpoint (1.) Treat this is a tool to help you prepare for your final exam next week. (2.) You need to have a graphic (map, graph, chart, table, etc.) for EACH slide. What is GPS? GPS (Global Positioning System) is a system that determines the precise position of something on Earth. 24 satellites were placed in predetermined orbits by the U.S. military. These satellites are controlled and monitored by tracking stations. A GPS receiver can locate at least 4 satellites, figure out the distance to each, and use this information to pinpoint its own location. GPS can be used to find the precise location of a moving vehicle and offer directions.
