CONTINUOUS COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION (CCE) – Contd.. For the SA1 & SA2 the respective FAs’ portions will be carried over. For FA1 & FA3 Ministry subjects are included – Arabic, UAE Social Studies, Islamic / Religion / Moral Science.

DISCIPLINE RULES OF THE SCHOOL Neat, clear uniforms with Lanyards and correct shoes & neat socks as appropriate for the day. Refer handbook Page 14 thru’ 17 for necessary details Nails shall be clipped regularly. No nail polish, fancy hair clips or henna. Fancy watches are not allowed. Hair shall be plaited (two plaits) Whiteners/ink erasers are banned. Wards should be in school before the bell at 07.20 am. If late, a late note will be marked in the hand book.

DISCIPLINE RULES INSIDE THE CLASSROOM Child must use school properties such as table, chair, curtains etc. with care. Class Monitor, Assistant Monitor, Board & Cupboard in charges and House Leaders are selected to maintain general rules in the class. Merit and demerit book:- Merits and demerits are awarded to the children for their academic performances, extracurricular activities and behaviour in the class room and in the school. House leaders are given in charge to record the merits and demerits of each child.

DISCIPLINE RULES INSIDE THE CLASSROOM (Contd..) Remark book:- Remark book is maintained in the class to record the positive and negative points of each child. Positive points are given for any good deeds and remarkable performance of the child. Any kind of irregularity in work and misbehavior is taken as negative remarks. Depending on the seriousness of the matter teachers choose to give first an oral warning and then record the remark in the remark book as well as in the child’s hand book. Please remember remark book will be the criteria for progress report/conduct certificate. Children are not allowed to run around and play in the class room.

FEES AND LEAVE Fees is to be paid on time. Please refer page Nos. 24 & 25 in the hand book for details. Kindly send the exact amount in a sealed cover with the name of the child, class, division and Register number. Prior permission to be taken from the Principal in case of absence of child for a week or few days. The same applies if the child has to be taken early from the school. If absent due to sickness, medical certificate should be provided. It is fully the responsibility of the child to complete the work for the absent days and the parents should ensure the same.

HOMEWORK AND TESTS Please sign the home work daily and ensure that you have gone through the day-to-day activity in the class. All the work assigned to be completed on time. Keep a regular check on the test dates given. Sign the test books and send them on the next day. The child is evaluated on the basis of written exams as well as projects. If the child is absent for assessments, there will NOT be a retest.

PROJECTS Most of the activities during the class hours are taken as part for students assessment(FA). FA includes both informed and un-informed assessments during the course. So please ensure that your child avoid unnecessary off to school. Date and list of materials required for the projects will be given well in advance. Child should come well prepared with all the required materials. Projects should be completed in the school within the given time by the respective students. Marks will be deducted if not able to complete within the specified time or not bringing enough materials for the projects or doing the class project in home with help of elders.

HEALTH MINISTRY – THEME OF THE YEAR The theme of the year advised by Health Ministry is “Eat Healthy”. In line with the theme, healthy food shall be consumed by all the students. Parents are requested to send healthy home made food supplemented with fruits & nuts. Avoid junk food and bought-out / ready-to-eat food in the lunch menu Send enough water as required for the student and advise them to consume it fully.

HOW THE PARENTS CAN HELP Motivate and encourage children for their regular assignments. Insist on punctuality. Please check and sign the diary and home work book regularly. Acknowledge the circular given in hand book. Send healthy breakfast and snacks. Say NO to fast foods and soft drinks. Be environment friendly-avoid the use of foils, low quality plastic bottles.

HOW THE PARENTS CAN HELP (Contd..) In order to encourage the reading habits of the children, we already set up a mobile library – if you are interested, send old good reading books to be kept in the class room.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION We have a school counsellor and a SEN(Special education need) guide to help our children. Counsellor – Mellissa; SENCO – Minimol George Counsellor is available above the singing hall. Parents who wants to get some guidance or if you want to discuss with her about your child, you are always welcome. All the matters about the kids counselling are so confidential.

PE UNIFORM Cost of PE uniform is Dhs.80/- Full set (T-shirt of house colour + Black track pant). Samples of PE uniform available with the company representatives Uniforms will be available in September’14
