American Unemployment rate is at 4.4% Washington 4.5% in July Oregon 3.8% in July North Dakota 2.3 Alaska 7.2%

How is unemployment rate determined? the number of unemployed people divided by the total number of people in the civilian labor force  To be counted as unemployed, you must be over 16, and have been available to work full-time during the past four weeks. Most important, you must have been actively looked for work during that same period. If you quit looking after 4 weeks, so you are now considered a discourage worker and are no longer counted as unemployed
