Painting with Sphero Shaw STEM Lab | 2018

What you should know In order to complete this Engagement you should have Completed the Sphero engagement At least one other coding engagement Have permission from Mr. Ochs When coding in this engagement, keep Sphero’s speed s – l – o – w! When controlling Sphero, you will need to code it, not free drive!

Things you’ll need Sphero Nubby cover iPad

Check it out!

Let’s get messy (almost)! Before we can start painting with Sphero, we need to understand some basic shapes. Code at least four of the following shapes on the floor with the nubby cover Square Rectangle Circle Star Heart

Questions Take a picture of each of your codes for the four shapes you programmed. Explain in at least five sentences what the most challenging part about coding those four shapes was. Describe how the nubby cover affects Sphero’s movement. Explain at least one similarity and one difference between what you will be doing and what is shown in the YouTube video.

Let’s get messy! Before you get painting, it would be a good idea to have a basic idea of what you will create! Remember to keep Sphero’s speed s – l – o – w! Check out Painting with Sphero box Blank paper Paint

Keep it going! What else can you code Sphero to create…? Do it! Another painting… Another idea… Do it!
