Teacher Lead Activity Why do we use templates? What is template? Website Design Teacher Lead Activity Why do we use templates? What is template? Talk to the students and refer to other lessons such as DT. Why do we use templates? Think about it, when the students were learning about HTML they would have had to write out a lot of code. Using templates saves us all of this time. This is why we’re going to learn about templates this lesson. Once we’ve set up our template we can continue.

Objective: - We’re learning to develop a template for building websites 3

Objective: - We’re learning to develop a template for building websites Before you can build your template, you need to make sure that you’ve set up your files. When you move computer (for whatever reason) you need to tell the software where to find your files. Refer back to previous videos or use the help file which has been attached to the website. 4

Objective: - We’re learning to develop a template for building websites Have you ever had to use a table in a Word Document? Why do we use them? Have a discussion with the students, tell them that we’re going to use tables to structure our template. We’ll need to agree a specific format for them. Explain how rows and columns work. 5
