Ms. Andrea’s Newsletter March 2019 What We’re Learning: March is a long month so we are going to try to accomplish a lot. We will continue to work on counting (rote and counting objects) and number identification. We will continue our work on letter identification and sounds. The morning class will be working on their names and letters in their name. The afternoon class will continue working on spelling and writing their names. The morning class will be introduced to rhyming books. The afternoon class will continue to work on identifying rhyming words and trying to produce words that rhyme. Finally, students will be learning about Spring! Our Schedule: The schedule will not be changing this month. There are no holidays to interrupt our routine. The kids have done very well handing changes to our schedule. I will continue to add a few “surprises” during the day so the students can keep working on how to adjust to change. The afternoon class will begin going on “field trips” around the school. We will eat lunch in the cafeteria and visit kindergarten classrooms. Special Announcements: February flew by! We have a few fun things planned for the month of March. The kids will be working on Spring and St. Patty’s Day crafts. March tends to be a crazy weather month. We will begin going outside more, so you may want to send your child to school with a light jacket just in case. Also, flu, colds, and stomach bugs are running rampant. Just a reminder that if your child has a fever or is/was vomiting they are not supposed to come back to school for 24 hours. This will help us keep germs contained (hopefully  ). Please continue to check your child’s red folder daily. This is the best place to find out about their day. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
