Pass in English Language or Maths Promotion Criteria NORMAL TECHNICAL Pass in English Language or Maths and at least 1 other subject A pupil who attains 70% or higher on average for every subject at the end of Sec 2 (Normal Technical) may be transferred to Sec 2 Normal Academic Course, if deemed able to cope with the demands of the Normal Academic course. Autonomy is given to schools to assess the suitability of students for lateral transfers to a more academically demanding course.

COMBINATION IS BASED ON MERIT FIRST (Overall % in ALL subjects), ALLOCATION OF SUBJECT COMBINATION IS BASED ON MERIT FIRST (Overall % in ALL subjects), FOLLOWED BY CHOICE. Selection will be carried out in October after end of year examinations.
