Vocabulary: Paragraph 1 1 schooling (n): schooling is education that children receive at school 2 compulsory (adj.): if something is compulsory, you must do it or accept it, because it is the law or because someone in a position of authority says you must 3 affluent (n): if you are affluent, you have a lot of money (the affluent are people who are affluent) 4 tutor (n): a. a tutor is a teacher at a British university or college; b. a tutor is someone who gives private lessons to one pupil or a very small group of pupils; c. if someone tutors a person or a subject, they teach that person or subject
