CCR 12 Spring Semester Week 1

Tuesday: Get your new schedules. Today we are going to do a quick writing practice. Writing Prompt: What does a new year resolution mean? In an essay, explain the meaning of a new year resolution. You could include examples of new year resolutions you have been successful at or not successful.

Week Layout/Requirements: Monday – Wednesday: Reading + 6 See Readers (articles) 3 Read Arounds (vocab) Thursday: Writing Practice If you are English ready, you will go to Ms. Ruby to work on Reading Each Thursday you will write a practice writing on one of the articles for the week. I will individually call you up on Fridays while you read Friday: SSR/Review If you are finished with all requirements: You will get to read anything you want OR work on other class work. If you chose to not use your time wisely, you will be required to work on Reading Plus.

Grading: You will receive 3-4 grades per week: Summative: Reading Plus See Reader score Formative: Completion of all required activities Formative: SSR Reading Log Formative: Writing practice (based on KYOTE score) You will complete a benchmark on Feb 3rd. (progress reports) Summative

Incentives: We will be competing with other CCR & RTI classes for the most combos within a quarter. Combos are achieved by completing two See Readers with an 80% back to back. Any student who completes their See Readers with an 80% average for the week will be allowed to use headphones the following week. Any student who has completed 8 combos by Feb 3rd will get to participate in a small reward (more details about reward later) Any student who has completed 20 combos by March 10th will get to participate in a large reward field trip. Lastly, the class who has the most combos by the end of the quarter (March 10th) will get to have a class reward!
