Series: Genetics Season 2: Of Germs and Genes Episode 3: Dihybrids Objective: Create a model showing how gamete combinations creates unique phenotypes for offspring Bell Ringer: Have a seat

Claims, Evidence, Reasoning Paragraph Writing: Topic sentence: Restate your claim Evidence: Find a piece of evidence from your source. Either cite it appropriately, or put it in your own words. Reasoning: Explain how your evidence supports your claim Evidence: Pick a different piece of evidence from your source. Reasoning: Explain how this new evidence supports your claim. Concluding Sentence: Wrap it up!

MONOHYBRID CROSS REVIEW Gametes will only pass on ONE gene each: A or a These genes are written on the outside of the Punnett square. The inside of the square shows the possible offspring genotypes. Dominant genes are uppercase letters, recessive are lowercase letters.

DIHYBRID CROSSES Dihybrid crosses show the possible outcome of two different traits. Each trait is represented by a different letter. Parents pass on one of each trait (one of each letter). RrYy = Mom RrYy = Dad Use foil to find all four combinations
