“God Loveth a Cheerful Giver”
Presentation transcript:

Monday Prayer: God our deliverer, defender of the poor and needy; when the foundations of the earth are shaking, Give strength to your people to uphold justice and fight all wrong, in the name of your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Action: As you watch the news this week, pray for what you hear and see.

Tuesday Reflection: St Paul shows us the attributes of love. This love is unconditional. When we look at the life of Jesus, we see love modelled. Read through the bible passage slowly, and see which verse jumps out at you. Action: Think of ways in which you can show love to your teachers, you class mates and your friends.

Wednesday “Do not forget: thin sowing means thin reaping; the more you sow, the more you reap. Each one of you should give what he has decided in your own mind, not grudgingly or because he is made to, for God loves a cheerful giver. And there is no limit to the blessing which God can send you”. (St Paul’s letter to the Corinthians 9:6-9) Prayer and reflection: Life on one level is quite simple. If you study, you will get better results than if you don’t. Henry Ford famously said “the harder I work, the luckier I get”. Our talents, skills and finances can make a difference to this world. These seeds planted today will become huge oak trees in the future. Action: Consider volunteering or giving to a cause close to your heart. These small actions will not only benefit others, but will help your heart to grow bigger in its capacity to love.

Thursday Reflection: Today is the feast day of St John Fisher and Thomas Moore. Both men gave their lives for their faith. Faith is a precious gift, normally passed down from parents to children. How are we protecting our faith? Do we nurture our faith? How can we deepen our faith? Action: Read the following slide and think about ways in which you can pray as a family.

Friday Reflection: Today is the feast day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. His heart calls to our heart, inviting us to make ourselves a gift of love to others. Prayer: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen Action: How have your acts of love this week impacted your own heart?
