Analysis of Data During the P2S1 exam you will need to look at graphs, score boards, league tables and charts. You will need top analyse the data and answer questions that are related to the specific information. Having an understanding of the command words that are used within exam questions will help you to prepare thoroughly for the exam. Command words Identify/state/names: asking you to say one word or provide a list/short answer. Analyse: say what you see. For example: Leeds are top of the league with 33 points and Wakefield are bottom. Compare: discuss the difference between two sets of teams/results. For example: Wigan have played 23 games and have 31 points from 15 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw. Huddersfield have also played 23 games but only have 28 points, due to 13 wins, 8 losses and 2 draws. Explain: using fully structured sentences give reasons for your answer. For example: Huddersfield have less points than Wigan because they have lost more games than them therefore are unable to be above them in the table. Their performances have not been at the standard required to win games and have been lower than that of Wigan. For Huddersfield to improve and move above Wigan they need to reduce the number of losses throughout the season.
