Background Group agreements How to realize global synchronization <September 2015> Background Group agreements All PDs in neighborhood should be synchronized no matter they are in a same RF channel or not. Use a common mode to enable quick synchronization. Use the approved distributed synchronization. How to realize global synchronization for PDs in different RF channels? Li, Hernandez, Dotlić, Miura (NICT)

<September 2015> Objective Propose a method to enable global synchronization among devices in different RF channels. Li, Hernandez, Dotlić, Miura (NICT)

<September 2015> What Is Common Mode? There shall be one and only one common mode defined at each frequency band. At least, the common mode shall have a fixed RF channel, and fixed PHY parameters. Li, Hernandez, Dotlić, Miura (NICT)

<September 2015> Usage of Common Mode Any PD enters the common mode shall perform the distributed synchronization as adopted in the draft. An initiator PD shall first get synchronized in common mode. A PD attempts to join PAC network should first start synchronization in common mode. Li, Hernandez, Dotlić, Miura (NICT)

Synchronization Outside Common Mode <September 2015> Synchronization Outside Common Mode Any PD outside the common mode shall perform the distributed synchronization as adopted in the draft but with the following condition: Only PDs got synchronized in common mode are allowed to transmit synchronization signal in any RF channels. Li, Hernandez, Dotlić, Miura (NICT)

Synchronization Outside Common Mode (continue) <September 2015> Synchronization Outside Common Mode (continue) A PD got synchronized in common mode and starts to transmit synchronization signal in any other RF channels rather than the common mode shall be re-synchronized in common mode for a minimum interval of time or it shall stop transmit synchronization signal. Li, Hernandez, Dotlić, Miura (NICT)

Parameters To be decided <September 2015> Parameters To be decided A fixed RF channel and fixed PHY parameters for the common mode at each frequency band. The minimum interval that a PD shall get re- synchronized in common mode. Li, Hernandez, Dotlić, Miura (NICT)

<September 2015> Questions? Li, Hernandez, Dotlić, Miura (NICT)
