Presentation transcript:

Mrs. Monacelli`s Class Week of September 19th Book We Read: What we did this week: We learned about colors and shapes The children made a shape necklace to work on their eye hand coordination We introduced math centers-these are centers that the children work on and rotate through every morning throughout the week-lining shapes with animals, sorting colored animals, counting robots on the Learnpads and Roll a shape. We read numerous shape poems such as Ricky Rectangle and Suzie Square. These helped the children see how many sides each shape has with a new poem/rhyme. This children learned the correct crayon grip-ask them to show you-keep reinforcing this at home. We worked in our handwriting booklets-aiming and coloring as well as introducing Mat Man and how to draw him! We made a shape paint and our own Mat Man during center time. The children made a spin off of the book “Brown Bear Brown Bear” and we made Shape Shape What Do you See? The children had fun with this one-they were proud to be able to read this at home! We explored colors through the book “Freight Train” and then colored our own Rainbow Train. We learned all about Mrs. Monacelli who was the Star of the week!
