Mission Statement In an effort to help clarify expectations, have well-trained and confident school personnel and provide a safe and supportive environment for our students, we have developed this training manual to help guide all staff.

Certified Staff Expectations Mandatory/Annual Training Sessions: Bullying Training Technology Acceptable Use Verification Blood-Borne Pathogens Training McKinney-Vento Homeless Awareness Gang Awareness Training Optional and Recommended: Youth Suicide: Awareness and Prevention (2018 mandatory but not yet an approved course by the IDOE) Child Abuse: Identification & Intervention Self-Injury and Cutting Sexual Harassment: Student Issues & Response Online Safety: Cyber bullying, Predators, Threats of Violence, What every Educator Needs to Know First Aid/CPR

Safe Schools Online Portal This training portal located at WWW.bgcs.k12.in.us is under the STAFF tab and requires you to log in as an employee. There are over 80 additional courses available for specific areas of employee emphasis. You may want to review these options to help you feel more comfortable with the demands and potential hazards or difficult situations within your job description. Your sessions will be recorded online. A certificate can be printed and used to show proof of training. Compliance with State and Federal Standards will be met for all employees.
