Facility Plans… Find your plans Do you have a specific plan Surge Evacuation Are you & your staff familiar with your plans Facility Plans…

Evacuation Facilities will practice urgent evacuation due to a Fire Will utilize current census Will move paper patients versus real patients Will need to make arrangements for transportation Invite your county emergency manager to participate Invite your transportation partners to participate (either in person or virtually) EMS, Medi-van, Bus company Will need to track patients and staff during the evacuation What tools do you have in place to track this? Will need to evacuate to an alternate site (not another nursing home) using your Memorandums of Understanding already in place

Surge Facilities will practice urgent surging up their current capacity Will utilize current census Will move paper patients versus real patients Invite your county emergency manager to participate Will discuss how to incorporate a surge of residents in a short amount of time. Discuss how to exceed your current capacity Include how to request additional staffing to cover the surge Identify how to set up alternate areas within the facility that could take patients in an emergency and what the capacity of those areas are Identify the resources that you have available and what is needed in order to surge Discuss how many patients your facility realistically can surge to Utilize MNTrac – Command Center to communicate with the coalition and fellow facilities
