Analyze Trends Do your complex issues & referrals outcomes look right? – Are they logical, based on your knowledge of work done by your SMP? – Are there drastic increases or decreases compared to last year? – If so, are you prepared to explain drastic increases or decreases to AoA, CMS, and the OIG? 7

Take a Closer Look 1. Create OIG Report Flat File 2. Format the Excel file for easier viewing 3. Review each Outcome – See the OIG Report Data Accuracy Checklist for details – Fix Red Flags
