Let’s practice! Pull out a clean sheet of paper. We are going to practice writing our own thesis statements

Thesis formula: Thesis= Restate the question+ Give a reason (or two)

Explain what is the most important rule at school. Explain why or why not people should live forever if it were possible. Explain who is your favorite teacher. Explain why or why not it is important to have good attendance at school. Explain what is the most important quality in a leader.

Expository outline An expository essay is arranged like this: Introduction (including thesis) Example (this should be a real world example that actually happened. If you can’t tell me the names of the people involved, it isn’t specific enough. Conclusion (explain why this matters and how your example proved your point. This part should be about the bigger picture)
