Telehealth Benefits: The Concussion Institute… Quality care from a familiar environment in your schools Support your High School Certified Athletic Trainer with complicated concussions Patients can receive immediate treatment Patients can be monitored regularly and updated communication can be shared with their “team” so that treatment plans stay current and helps maximize recovery Partnered with the Department of Public Health and their Injury Prevention work to provide some funding for this school year The Concussion Institute… is comprised of concussion specialists providing quality care is part of the Telemedicine program in Georgia is interested in Telemedicine partnerships across Georgia

Key Recommendations from the CDC Pediatric mTBI Guideline: Do not routinely image patients to diagnose mTBI. Use validated, age-appropriate symptom scales to diagnose mTBI. Assess evidence-based risk factors for prolonged recovery. Provide patients with instructions on return to activity customized to their symptoms. Counsel patients to return gradually to non-sports activities after no more than 2-3 days of rest.
