PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) It responses directly to the challenge of equipping the tertiary level students with the required skills to identify, analyse, and solve real life problem. It forces students out of the lecture halls/laboratories and into the field where real life problems are tackled as part of their learning process.

PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) PROCEDURE Present real-world problem (trigger) Analyse the problem. Identify learning issues. Conduct self-directed learning. Meet to discuss and solve the problem.

PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) Presenting the problem Facilitator hands the problem (Trigger) to the students. Students read and clarify the problem if there is insufficient data. Identify the problem. Generate many ideas based on the facts of the problem by engaging prior knowledge. Address learning issues that need to be learnt in order to manage the problem.
