Completing the SIAMS Self-Evaluation Form. Vision Provision Impact; Complete and aspirational but also realistic and honest school self-evaluation; Focus not on description, but on actions taken and their impact, What is ‘value added’ because you are a Church school? Avoid duplication – decide on most appropriate strand; No need to rewrite information that can be found elsewhere, i.e. on school website, just give link; (Contd.) The SDBE - Developing Church of England Education

Completing the SIAMS Self-Evaluation Form. (Contd.) Corporate effort; On-going process of review; Use the evaluation questions and grade descriptors to guide your evaluation, but write the whole SEF to answering the overall inspection question: - “How effective is the school’s distinctive Christian vision, established and promoted by leadership at all levels, in enabling pupils and adults to flourish?” The SDBE - Developing Church of England Education

Making a Case For Excellent? “When awarding a grade to the school, the inspector will start by seeking to decide if the evidence supports a grade of Good. If yes, they will then be determining if the school should be awarded the grade of Excellent The school self-evaluation will be the starting point of that conversation.” The SDBE - Developing Church of England Education

Making a Case For Excellent? Exceptional and innovative practice; Those things that the school community is particularly proud of; What sets the school apart from others, how it stands out; School’s unique selling points; Across all 7 strands; Way and above Good; What the school could be showcased on to other schools. The SDBE - Developing Church of England Education
