Presentation transcript:

3 minutes NEXT STEPS: Take out your 3 design ideas you finished for homework. Which is the most successful one and what more could be done to improve/enhance/modify it? Which media would be a sensible choice to add a hint of colour to refined ideas?

You will… Learning Objectives Learn about the importance of design idea refinement and development. Learn which colour media is effective for colour trialling. Learn to make multiple copies using the photocopier. Develop a series of colour trials to consider the alternatives for the final outcome. Develop their colour skills in their chosen media. Develop their ability to review their own and each other’s work offering advice and suggestions for improvement.

elements are successful and should be developed? Look at these design ideas…which elements are successful and should be developed? 5 minutes

Here is how they were developed…

TASK: DESIGN REFINEMENT 30 minutes Produce at least 1 REFINED DESIGN IDEA taking the most successful elements from your initial designs and developing them to make the piece even better. Then…get a few photocopies of the refined idea and using a colour media of your choice, add a hint of colour (vary them on each design) to consider what your final outcome might look like.

TASK: FINAL DESIGN PLAN 40 minutes The last stage now is to redraw your refined idea making any more final alterations and then add colour and tone to show exactly what the outcome will be like when finished. You should also add annotations to fully explain the idea and add some thumbnail images to show where all your inspiration and imagery came from.

5 minutes Before you go ahead and make your final design plan…discuss your idea with your peers and show them your colour trials too. Discuss any final alterations that need to be made too. Learning Objectives You will: Learn about the importance of design idea refinement and development.
