Synopsis The book follows the adventures of a greyhound called Best Mate from a tough beginning to life, being saved by a kind boy and then being homed by the RSPCA, getting kidnapped and entered into racing. The story follows his trials as he tries to find a good home.

My review The book is really well written and I really enjoyed reading it and couldn’t put it down. The story itself has both happy and sad moments as you follow along with Best Mate and whilst I liked the story the ending left me disappointed.

My Rating I would give this book 4 stars. It was a good read and I would recommend it to everyone. Michael Morpurgo is a very good author and I have also read the following books that he has written: Shadow Toro Toro Private Peaceful Arthur the high King of Britain
