Perspective and Space

Perspective A method used to create the illusion of depth on a two-dimensional surface.

Perspective was developed during the Renaissance by the architect and sculptor, Filippo Brunelleschi

Prior to the development of perspective, paintings tended to be very flat.

Techniques for Creating Perspective Overlapping and Placement

Converging Lines Horizon Line: The imaginary line at which the sky seems to meets the ground. Vanishing Point: The point on the horizon where converging parallel lines seem to meet.
