FINAL WHISTLE DEBRIEF Overview At the end of a match/game or training session it is important that young players/athletes have an opportunity to reflect on their learning during the session. Call all the players/athletes together and work through the questions on the card. The final whistle debrief provides an opportunity to establish the young player’s/athlete’s thoughts on the match/training session, establish a development plan and clarify anything they are unsure of – all vital discussions in developing young people with growth mindsets. The final whistle debrief can also be used as a homework exercise for young players. You can print the debrief double-sided, cut it to size and have it as a handy reminder. Rate this tool! Give us your feedback.
