Tilly Turtle Come to Tea Next Star of the week: Nov. 14th Mrs. Monacelli`s Class Week of October 31st What we did this week: Theme: We learned all About our 5 senses Hearing: We listened to different eggs filled with items and had to match our sound egg with someone else in the room-we also listened to instruments and tried to guess what they were. Tasting and smelling-first we smelled an item and tried to figure out what it was-then we tasted that item and tried to describe the taste-sweet, sour, and salty. Touch-we used our hands to see if we could figure out what item I was describing-bumpy, smooth, rough, etc. Sight-We made patterns and used our eyes to see if we could figure them out. Math Centers: AB patterns with Pom , Poms-Big little and colored, Raced to fill a cup-roll the dice and put that number in the cup, Number 6 worksheet and workbook, Pumpkin Teeth-roll the dice and put that many teeth on the pumpkin Letter of the week: T and J Number of the week: 6 We also learned about our literacy centers which we are starting tomorrow Writers workshop-3 ways to read a book-Read the pictures, Read the words and Read with a friend. Reminders/ Important Class Info Thank you for the donation of the Hot Glue gun-it will be well used here! Sign up for volunteers for Grandparents Day was sent in an email and posted on Facebook Page-please check it out and consider helping out! Please practice with your child getting on their coats and zipping-we have a zipper club starting soon at school! Also please label outerwear-we have a lot of the same coats and gloves and hats! Please continue working on your Disguised Turkeys!
