Students will read informational texts to learn about hurricanes and their impact on Louisiana. This week we will read a variety of informational texts. In addition, students will take a mid-module assessment covering all skills taught so far. We will then move into adding & subtracting multi-digit whole numbers. Students will be assessed on their ability to fluently add and subtract numbers, as well as their ability to solve multi-step word problems using addition and subtraction. Students will take an addition test on Monday, 9/17. ***Fluency quiz average has been added into our online grading system. This average CAN CHANGE. It will be updated at the end of the 9 weeks grading period. Remember, fluency quizzes are given weekly . Fact sheets are in the math sleeve of the binder. We will do several fun, hands-on activities in class using the Mystery Science website. Social Studies - In-class graded assignments this week Unit 1: America the Beautiful & Map Skills Students will continue to work on developing map skills, focusing on the regions of the United States. Students should be able to draw a map of the U.S. and divide it into 5 regions. We will walk students through their first DBQ (Document-Based Questions) Assessment this week.
