Stations Station 1 - Look at the picture. Highlight or circle at least 5 things that are bad or unsafe. On your paper, describe what is being done incorrectly for at least 2 of the pictures. For 2 other pictures, describe what should have been done. Station 2 - Read the story about Sponge Bob and Patrick in the science lab. Highlight the things that they did wrong. Share with your group some of the things you highlighted Station 3 - Read each scenario described on the card. On your paper, write the best answer and why you chose that answer. Station 4 - Pass out cards to each student in the group. Person with START lays down the first card and reads the question. The person with the answer, lays down their card next to the question. Like playing dominoes.

Science Reflection On the back of your paper, answer the following questions: Why is safety important in the science lab? What are 2 or 3 important safety rules to follow?

What is the right thing to do? You are working at your table. As you are pouring water from one container to another, some of it spills on the table. What should you do? Write your answer on the paper.

What is the right thing to do? A student is working across the room from you, the student accidentally drops a beaker on the floor. What should you do? Write your answer on the paper.

What is the right thing to do? Your teacher gives you a small cup of a substance that looks and feels like sugar. What should you do? Write your answer on the paper.

What is the right thing to do? Another group asks your group to borrow a bottle of food coloring. The teacher says it is okay to let them borrow it. What should you do? Circle the best answer on the paper.

What is the right thing to do? Susan is using a paper towel to wipe up some water. She doesn’t feel like walking to the trash can so she puts the paper towel into the sink closest to her table. Explain why trash should not be put in the sink.
