WHY AAKHIRAH? my understanding of why there MUST be a Day of Judgment and a Hereafter, inshaAllah …

Because Allah says so and gives sufficient proof in the Qura’an and the Ahadeeth. "The Hour (of Judgement) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder." [al- Qamar 54:1] In Sahih al-Bukhari, there is a hadith which states that a Bedouin asked the Prophet about the Hour. He said, "It will surely come to pass. What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have not prepared much in the way of prayer and good works, but I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet said, "You will be with those you love." The Muslims had never rejoiced as much they did when they heard this hadith.

Because there must be something after this life, we can’t possibly just rot in the earth and become a part of the food chain!

Because our Creator is FAIR & JUST! HOW can a person who has committed mass murder be truly tried and punished by a human court of law??? In quantity and in quality?? HOW can a person who has spent a truly selfless life be paid back?? Is the satisfaction of a job well done real?

Because absolutely NO ONE has the right to be judgmental about anyone else, except ALLAH! Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Why did someone do what they did? Why couldn’t they have done it some other way ---- so many questions and so many more accusations and judgments!!!!!

Because there is a fixed set of rules for our exam (read LIFE), the marking scheme has also been set and we are going to always have help along the way – sometimes we need to ask and at other times we get it unasked, in spite of the ungrateful beings that we are!! SUBHANALLAH!!! And there has just GOT TO BE a difference between those who follow the rules and those who don’t!

Because , in spite of all the black and white rules, we have gray areas in our lives which Allah alone can understand!

Because people are NOT things Because people are NOT things! The Hereafter gives us hope of meeting our loved ones again, provided we all work towards attaining a happy abode inshaAllah!

Because ETERNITY and IMMORTALITY do exist, just not in THIS WORLD! This world is a prison to the Believer (in Islam) and a paradise for the Non Believer (in Islam) ….
