L’Officina del cioccolato L’Officina del Cioccolato is a chocolate shop in Noto, which produces many chocolate products and it is located in the city center. It was born from the idea of two boyfriends, who, after attending an advanced course of a year in Veneto, improved their skills and turned their passion into a real job. To know something more about this Company, we asked some questions to one of the owners:

Why did you choose this name “Officina del cioccolato”? Who‘s the owner of the company and where’s he from? My boyfriend Sebastiano and I are the owners and we are from Noto. Why did you choose this name “Officina del cioccolato”? We chose this name because we wanted a chocolate shop in Noto and we called it Officina del Cioccolato because we produce chocolate in our laboratory.

When was it open? It was open for seven months. Why did you decide to open this chocolate shop just in Noto? We decided to open it in Noto because there wasn’t this type of shop here. We thought it could attract both tourists and people who like chocolate.

Did you have any difficulties when you opened your business Did you have any difficulties when you opened your business? Yes, we had bureaucratic difficulties. We had to wait a lot to do everything according to law. Did you ask for a loan when you started your company and if yes, which was the amount? No, we didn’t ask for any loan.

Is Officina del Cioccolato a chain shop? No, it isn’t. How many workers do you have? We don’t have any workers, only me and my boyfriend.

What do you produce? We produce different types of chocolates , biscuits, cakes and ice-creams.

Do you have more foreign or local customers? In summer we have more foreign customers and in winter we have more local customers. Do you sell more in summer or in winter? We sell the same way in both summer and winter.

How did you sponsor your business? We sponsored it by social networks, either by leafleting or word of mouth.
