Add text First task – students are either describing, explaining or judging the defensive feature s of the castle whilst looking at included different levels of vocabulary Second task – pupils are discussing different questions when using the card sort and then choosing what level they want to work at in their answer booklet. Homework – pupils are choosing one of three tasks depending on their level Focus on how students can improve their written and verbal answers by using VCOP to improve their historical terminology, general vocabulary, punctuation, connectives and openers. Students are discussing in groups and sharing ideas. They are to be considerate of others views. Students at the higher level will be considering how societies use of weapons has changed over time and whether attitudes have changed. Possible opportunity to discuss the morality of the use of weapons if there is an opportune time within the lesson. I would presume during the opinion line task where I can question students about the ability of humans to kill during a battle.

You have one minute whilst I am doing the register to write down as many adjectives as possible about this castle. Can you now try and put some of these words into a sentence so that you can describe the castle. Using VCOP you now have one minute to improve your sentence by using a better sentence opener or connective.
