Today’s Topics - Office and Field I/I reduction Low flow monitoring Collection Systems’ Pretreatment Asset Management ITCP Training Lateral Rehab MDE Should each of these be a separate slide?

INTRODUCTION (WSSC) is among the largest water and wastewater utilities in the nation, serving nearly 1.8 million residents in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, Maryland. Within these two counties, WSSC operates and maintains over 5,600 miles of sanitary sewer pipelines. Include personal history of professional background

WSSC approach: Asset Management Levels 1, 2, and 3 condition scoring Desktop analysis Physical Inspection Continuous inspection and monitoring

WSSC approach: Condition Assessment Consistency in Asset Management Standardized data collection NASSCO Manhole inspections Pipeline inspections Lateral Inspections Non-standardized data collection Smoke testing Dye testing Flow isolation Consistency in Asset Management affects engineering’s data collection.  For example, sewer inspection is standardized with NASSCO.  We don’t have standards for smoke or dying testing, but have to ensure the consistency.

WSSC approach: Asset Management Decision making Asset renewal Operations and maintenance optimization Inspections feed asset management which requires quality data in order to be used for decision making
