New Innovations Student Menu

Mobile Software To download the Case Logger app to a mobile device, click on More in the Menu Bar and then click on the Mobile link. Mobile software is available for iPhone/iPod and Windows devices.

Your Rotation Schedule

What is Case Logger? Case Logger allows you to electronically record information on patient encounters. You complete required fields and save. Because the application is web-based, you can access and add cases conveniently. This provides a current and comprehensive record of your clinical experience on each clerkship.

Case Logger Tracking & Reports Each clerkship has defined requirements (patient types, diagnoses, procedures). New Innovations will help you keep track of how well you are meeting the objectives of each clerkship. Clerkship directors and coordinators can view online reports of student progress. In the event that a required area is lacking, clerkship directors may mandate additional activities or experiences.

Summary of Case Logger Steps Choose Logger and click on Log a Case. Your current clerkship should appear in the Rotation field. Enter the date of the patient encounter. Complete each field. Fields marked with * are required. Save your case log entry.

Logging a Case Record the date of the patient encounter. Begin recording case information.

Logging a Case Complete Procedure and Diagnosis fields as required. Continue to record information.

Logging a Case Record patient information. Use the medical record number and avoid inserting names.

Logging a Case Complete the remaining fields. Save your entry. You can Save and Retain, allowing you to continue logging on a particular patient without re-entering information. You can Save and Clear, saving your log and making the screen ready for another entry. Complete the remaining fields. Save your entry. View your logs.

Case Log Reminders Check each course syllabus carefully. Logging requirements will vary with each clerkship. Log your cases regularly. You must enter them within the dates of each clerkship rotation. If you complete a requirement with a simulated experience, be sure to log it.

Course/Faculty Evaluations You will use New Innovations to complete required evaluations for your clerkship. You will receive e-mail notifications about evaluations.
