Learn about the work of Andy Warhol and how to produce work in his style What I’m looking for… A series of images of your crisp packet coloured in the style of Andy Warhol. An ability to stylize an image Knowledge and understanding of Andy Warhol's work.

What is an observational drawing? What is a line drawing? 5 minutes DISCUSSION What is an observational drawing? What is a line drawing? What is weight of line in a drawing? A drawing produced from looking at a real life object. A drawing produced using just lines and adding NO tone The use of darker or thicker lines in a line drawing to give the sense of tone and therefore an illusion of depth and three-dimension.

Watch a teacher demonstration to learn how to produce an accurate line drawing

Collect an image from the side which corresponds to your differentiation level. 30 minutes Draw the crisp packet in as much detail as you can in pencil. Look at the creases and information on the packet. Once you are happy with your drawing, go over it with the fine liner. Be careful not to smudge. When you have finished take your drawing to the teacher to be photocopied.

Swap your sketchbook with another person who is on the same differentiation level as you. 3 minutes Assessment Criteria: Accurate drawing which includes smaller details such as lettering and folds in the packet Neat, bold and confident lines (not sketchy) Correct perspective Look at their crisp packet line drawing. Using your personal judgement, assess this work using the criteria opposite. Give a positive comment or some advice for improvement on the progression sheet in the back of their book.

Cut out your photocopies and stick in your book in a grid format. 2. Using felt tips colour the different sections of your drawing in. Vary the colour on each photocopy in the style of Andy Warhol 10 minutes EXAMPLE: Blue group – use at least 3 different colours Yellow group – use at least 4 different colours Red group – use at least 5 different colours

PREP.WORK Complete your Andy Warhol Style drawing making sure it is fully coloured in.

3 minutes Turn to the back of your sketchbook and thinking about the learning objectives from the start of the lesson, tick each statement that you feel confident you have learnt. Now at the right-hand side, write down one specific thing that you have learnt today that you didn’t know before.
