Presentation transcript:

Mrs. Vaglia’s Adventuring 3rd Grade Class March 4, 2019 Student Led Conferences Math The multiplication unit was a great success! When looking at an equation; 3 X 4 = 12, 3 tells the # OF groups and 4 tells the # IN the groups. With division, it is important to know what the numbers mean as well. In the problem 12 ÷ 3 = 4, 3 tells the # IN the groups, and 4 tells the # OF groups. The picture needs to match the equation. It is spring (almost) and it is conference time! I plan to organize student led conferences in the 4th quarter. The students will be leading the conference with their data notebooks. Right now however, if you would like to meet, either in person, or on the phone, let me know and we can set a date. I’ve already met with a few parents. I look forward to hearing from you. Social Studies African American Biography We are finishing up our unit on Ancient China this week with our test next Monday. The children have been fascinated by the Great Wall of China and learning how kites and fireworks were used. We all learned a LOT about a variety of African Americans that impacted their time in history and the future. The children learned about the process of creating a short report doing a presentation, demonstrating knowledge on their topic and citing resources. Main Idea continues to be a rdg. comprehension focus. Class Pictures rescheduled 4/1. vagliaek@staffordschools.net Website calendar for events.
