IDD Assessment Project Overview SECTION 3.01 of Senate Bill (S.B.) 7, 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, 2013 Identify and implement a comprehensive assessment instrument and resource allocation process for individuals with IDD that identifies the type, intensity, and range of services that are appropriate and available based on the functional needs of the individual.

IDD Assessment - Pilot Three phase approach: Phase One – Pilot Assessments Phase Two – Evaluation of Assessments Phase Three – Statewide Rollout Contingent on the results of phase two of the project. Currently planning and contracting for Phase One.

IDD Assessment - Pilot Pilot – Phase 1 Design Assumptions interRAI ID Assessment will be administered to a sample of no less than 1,368 individuals age 18 or older. Design Assumptions The pilot assessment will be completed and compared to the current required assessment for each participant. Planning and resource allocation processes will remain unchanged.

IDD Assessment – Pilot Sample Will include participants from HCS, TxHmL, CLASS, DBMD, ICFs/IID and SSLCs Include new admissions to both SSLCs and Waivers Include individuals transitioning from SSLCs and nursing facilities into the waivers Exclude restoration commitments Participation will be voluntary and an individual and/or LAR may choose to opt out of having the pilot assessment completed. Assessments will be completed in the most appropriate setting for the individual.

IDD Assessment – Pilot Will include participants from urban and rural areas Tarrant County & Lakes Regional LIDDAs Denton & Mexia State Supported Living Center A resource allocation process will not be included in the pilot. The pilot assessment will not be used for planning or tied to funding.

IDD Assessment – Pilot What you may need to know: Questions? That it is happening. Where to direct questions. Assure individuals and LARs that funding and resource allocation remains unchanged. Outreach for volunteers should begin in February Assessments will be completed by mid-July Questions?
