General Routines Register is taken at 9:00 Collective Worship is held everyday at 9:10 Maths and English every day Topic and Foundation subjects every afternoon Guided Reading from Tuesday-Friday Monday and Tuesday afternoon the children will have PE with Mr Evans and will be let out by him on a Monday. On Wednesday afternoons the children will be let out by Mrs Morgan

Start and end of the day Children can enter the classroom from 8:45 onwards Independence The children will always have a start of the day activity based on prior SPAG or Maths learning If you want to update the going home list please contact the Office. Children who need accompanying will be taken to the playground.

Homework There is no set Maths or English this term. We are focusing on time tables. Spellings will be tested and given out every Monday. These are taken from the New National Curriculum and must be learnt. 99 Club tested every Friday. Topic homework for the term will be set at a later date- This is an opportunity for the children to explore their own interests within our topic. Topic homework sharing date: 28th March 2018 If there are any problems with the homework, please come to speak to me so I can help. If the homework is too hard, or too easy, please make a note in the children’s homework diaries.

Reading 3 x a week Please record, or encourage your child to record, when they have read at home. The homework diary is also a point of contact. Please ensure your child has their homework diary in school everyday.

Progress A range of assessment strategies Continuous ongoing assessment If child is not on track to meet age related expectations then I will contact you.

Maths This term we will be focusing on; Multiplication and Division Money Measurement: Perimeter and length Word problems: consider, construct, calculate, check Continual consolidation of place value and addition and subtraction techniques in short morning tasks or mid- morning maths challenge. Quick recall of times tables and number bonds to 20 will support the children’s learning within class so please practise at home.

Science Light – designing our own experiments. Forces and magnets- linking into the topic of Romans through moving chariots!

PE Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct PE kit as described on the school website and that the clothing is appropriate for the time of year!
