GRANT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for your interest in applying for a grant at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. Before viewing this slideshow, please read the “How to Apply” page under the “GRANTS” tab. Once you have developed your application materials, this presentation will guide you through the process of submitting your application materials.

When you have received an email confirming grant portal access, click “LOGIN” and enter your unique username and password. This takes you to the Applicant Dashboard.

On the Applicant Dashboard, you can: Verify and edit “My User Profile” information Verify and edit “Organization Contact Information” Verify and edit “Organization Snapshot” Apply for a grant

In the “Organization Overview” section, information entered in the “Organization Snapshot” at least 24 hours before is automatically pulled into the application. However, the Organization Overview can be edited as needed for collaborative projects.

Before logging in, download and complete the Grant Application Packet Before logging in, download and complete the Grant Application Packet. Application packets for each fund can be found by scrolling to the bottom of the fund’s page under “Funding Opportunities”. scroll down

To start an application, click on the live link for the fund you would like to apply for.

Complete the prequalifying questions.

Note: Proposal title cannot be changed after clicking on “Start Application” on this page.

Copy and paste answers from your completed Word document into the online application. (Note: Online application will not allow for formatting such as bold, italics, bullet points, formatted tables or PDF files.)

Each screen has buttons for “Save & Home,” “Print,” “Back” and “Save and Go Next.”

Find saved applications in “My Applications” in the Applicant Dashboard. Select the App ID live link of the application you would like to return to.

Notice that the completed sections of the application have a green checkmark.

To add an objective, click “Add” on the lower blue bar. Objectives: To add an objective, click “Add” on the lower blue bar.

Requirements: Additional materials must be uploaded, including a Project Budget, Organizational Financial Statements, or Strategic Plans, depending on the application. These forms are found on each fund’s page (where you downloaded the application). Click on “Details” to upload needed document.

On the next screen click “Select” and choose a document from your desktop. Then click “Upload.”

When a document has been successfully uploaded, the status in the requirements table will change from Outstanding to Received.

A “Final Review” button appears when all sections of the application, including requirements, have been completed.

Print a copy to review your answers Print a copy to review your answers. After reviewing, click on “Submit Application.” Answers cannot be changed once the application has been submitted.

When an application has been submitted, your primary organization contact will receive a confirmation email.

To view your application packet, go back to the home page for the application and click the “Generate Packet” button. This will include the application narrative, budgets and all other documents, though the order of documents may be changed.

Once Community Foundation staff have processed the application, the application Status in “My Applications” on the Applicant Dashboard will change from “Received” to “Entered.”

For applications to COMPETITIVE DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS: Within one week you will receive a confirmation email and the amount requested will be updated in “My Applications.”
