The Fit for Work UK Coalition: Highlights from a decade of campaigning to put health and work on the public policy agenda

Key milestones: 2008 to 2012 UK campaigning underway Coalition calls for work to be recognised as a health outcome, increased policy attention, national leadership and joint working Fit For Work UK Coalition established Founded with support from AbbVie and chaired by the Work Foundation 11 members, spanning charities and professional organisations Body and Soul report and parliamentary events Report exploring connection between physical and mental health conditions Events in each UK parliament explore how work can help in recovery Taking the strain report Fit For Work UK report on impact of MSKs on work and home life 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 Working for a healthier tomorrow report Dame Carol Black’s review makes recommendations for improving health of UK working population Improving health and work, changing lives Government response sets out plans to change attitudes to health and work and promote workplace wellbeing The Boorman Review of NHS Health and Wellbeing Independent review of health and wellbeing of NHS staff and action plan published by Coalition member Dr Steve Boorman
