Team Progress Report #2

TPR#2 Template provided on InSPIRESS Downloads page You will revise this presentation for your PSR presentation next week If you do not have a team name or logo yet, just erase the words in the template Need to see progress on the logo, though

Title Slide Add your team name here Add high school name Candidate logo??

Team List all of the people on your team First and last names Positions Everyone needs to introduce themselves

Team Identity Show us the concepts for the logo and slogan You need to explain how the team name, the logo, and the slogan relate These are your first choices that the review board sees – there needs to be logical explanation here

UAH Baseline Mission Describe the vehicles that UAH has You can use the slides that we provided you Tell us which vehicle you are on (and why you want to be on that one) This doesn’t have to be finalized, but give us your best guess so far Where do you plan on going Planet/Moon name is NOT specific enough This should be because of your science objective Again, a best guess is good enough right now

Science Objective List the science objective (or objectives) You don’t have to have chosen yet, but give us your top three and explain why these are of interest to you You should answer the questions Who cares about this science objective? Why should they care? How will it change our lives/perspective, etc.?

Science Traceability Matrix Complete the matrix Include the science objective that has been chosen Include the other columns, ending with the instruments you believe are needed in order to measure data to support that science objective Science Objective Measurement Objective Measurement Requirements Instrument When Where Who What How

Instrument Requirements Complete the table This table is for scientific instruments only The instruments that you use to accomplish your science objective(s) Remember to review what lifetime, frequency, and duration mean Look at the pages in the book for this!

Support Equipment Requirements List the components/equipment that your payload needs to accomplish the mission, but are not science instruments Example: computer, transmitter/receiver, … Hint: use the book Give all specifications asked in the table

Payload Design Requirements List the project requirements Describe their impact on you List the six functional requirements Describe their impact DO NOT discuss any type of solution here – just give us the requirements

Payload Destination Tell us where your payload is going Be as specific as possible! Usually, there’s more than one location – list all locations and their properties Describe the environment where you going What’s the temperature, pressure, gravity, etc.? Include a picture Looks nice and gives the review board a reference Everyone loves photos

Concepts For each concept slide (there are at least 2), describe the concepts Start with brief description (including descriptive name) Include a figure Can be hand-drawn List how the concept accomplishes the 6 functional requirements Think of this as explaining the payload’s ConOps What does it do, to the best detail that you have

Alternatives List both alternatives in table Give Positives and Negatives for both concepts Be honest Be open Don’t take anything personally Design Alternative Positives Negatives Concept 1: Name of Concept Blah Blah blah Very insightful stuff Even more stuff here Concept 2: Name of Concept Something Something here too Very good points Even better point

CEA Event Plans Give us details on the CEA event plans If you have already completed some events, tell us about those too We always like to see pretty pictures of what you are doing!
