Homework Spelling and guided reading homework will be given out on the day your child has their guided reading session. Maths homework will mostly be set on My Maths although sometimes it will be expected to be completed in their homework books. The children will have a week to complete the tasks. Homework should not be rushed and there is an expectation that it be presented as beautifully as classwork. Please could you check that this is happening.

PE Kit PE – We have PE twice a week. Please ensure that your child’s full kit is in school. PE kits to be taken home every weekend Outdoor wear for winter: Tracksuit bottoms, long-sleeved tops. If your child is unable to take part in PE, please let me know by letter or phone.

Home School Planner Each child will be given a new own home/school planner. It contains useful information such as our ‘Golden Rules’; the pupils logins for various online programs to support learning; what you can do to help your child at home, useful spellings and a maths section. The main purpose of this book is to aid communication between home and school especially if it is difficult for you as a working parent to visit school during school hours.

Helpers in class We would welcome any help in our classroom and when we go on day-trips. If you would like to do this on a regular basis or just occasionally, please let us know.

Any Concerns If you have any worries or concerns, please come in and see us as soon as possible. The quicker we know about it, the sooner we can sort it out. If you are unable to come in, send a note or phone & speak to Mrs Houldsworth or Mrs Hilditch who will relay your message to us. Communication between home and school is very important to us.
